The definition of “terrorism” continues to broaden as a means harassing and silencing anyone who speaks out against the interests that own and control our governments. We are rapidly approaching the day when anyone who speaks out against these interests will be arrested and indefinitely imprisoned without charges. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Actor Mark Ruffalo has reportedly been placed on a US terror advisory list after campaigning in support of a documentary highlighting the alleged dangers of natural gas drilling.

Ruffalo attracted the attention of Pennsylvania’s Office of Homeland Security when he organised screenings for Gasland, which won the special jury prize at this year’s Sundance film festival, and said he was concerned about the impact of drilling on water supplies. The actor has addressed the subject in the latest edition of American GQ.

It’s business as usual as a British peer talks on the floor of the House of Lords about once conspiring with the Bank of England to launder money for the Irish Republican Army. He then explains how this sort of behavior continues to this day. This video is a little old, but news of the corporate takeover of the developed nations is unfolding so quickly that we can barely keep up with it all.

So far this news is coming only from Douglas Hagmann, who is a good researcher and a reliable source. Consider this an early warning. Make up your own mind as to the source’s legitimacy.

The terminology contained within the reported memo is indeed troubling. It labels any person who “interferes” with TSA airport security screening procedure protocol and operations by actively objecting to the established screening process, “including but not limited to the anticipated national opt-out day” as a “domestic extremist.” The label is then broadened to include “any person, group or alternative media source” that actively objects to, causes others to object to, supports and/or elicits support for anyone who engages in such travel disruptions at U.S. airports in response to the enhanced security procedures.

For individuals who engaged in such activity at screening points, it instructs TSA operations to obtain the identities of those individuals and other applicable information and submit the same electronically to the Homeland Environment Threat Analysis Division, the Extremism and Radicalization branch of the Office of Intelligence & Analysis (IA) division of the Department of Homeland Security.

The federal government engages in warrantless wiretapping, outsources its management of the monetary system, conducts searches without reasonable suspicion, wages war without formal declaration, shuts down Internet domains without due process, arrests and holds people without formal charges, and interferes in intra-state commerce, among many other things. Of course it operates outside of its Constitutional authority. In fact, the federal government, by its actions, demonstrates that it has nothing but contempt for the Constitution.

Voters are clearly dubious about the size and scope of today’s federal government.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 39% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the federal government currently operates within the limits established by the Constitution of the United States.

Forty-four percent (44%) disagree and say it is not functioning within those limits, while another 17% aren’t sure.

From CNBC:

“In the Army, they’re having a very interesting year-long exercise called ‘Unified Quest 2011,’ and in that wargaming series they’re looking at the implications of large-scale economic breakdown inside the United States that would force the Army to keep ‘domestic order among civil unrest’ . . .”

Anyone who thinks insurers won’t soon be using consumer purchasing data and other minable information to make decisions about coverage is living in a dream world. It’s a no-brainer that the data gathered through supermarket loyalty cards, for example, will eventually be used to set health insurance premiums. Everything you buy and do that is trackable can and will be used against you.

Why is this a matter of government against the people? Because the insurance industry is a major shareholder in the corporation known as the United States of America. Also, because information that can predict if you’re a threat to an insurance company’s profitability might also one day be used to predict if you’re a threat to the state.

For years, insurance companies have been dying to get their hands on data about consumers’ purchasing and online behavior. The Wall Street Journal reports that life insurance companies are now making their move:

Life insurers are testing an intensely personal new use for the vast dossiers of data being amassed about Americans: predicting people’s longevity.

Insurers have long used blood and urine tests to assess people’s health—a costly process. Today, however, data-gathering companies have such extensive files on most U.S. consumers—online shopping details, catalog purchases, magazine subscriptions, leisure activities and information from social-networking sites—that some insurers are exploring whether data can reveal nearly as much about a person as a lab analysis of their bodily fluids.

In one of the biggest tests, the U.S. arm of British insurer Aviva PLC looked at 60,000 recent insurance applicants. It found that a new, “predictive modeling” system, based partly on consumer-marketing data, was “persuasive” in its ability to mimic traditional techniques.

This is what happens when religious organizations accept the 30 pieces of silver known as 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. If a religious organization doesn’t want to be harassed by the IRS over what it teaches or advocates, it shouldn’t accept the tax cut. Most religious organizations in the U.S., though, can’t resist the boost in revenue tax exemption results in. They should be aware that all federal benefits come with strings attached and are ultimately about control.

A Pennsylvania Jewish group that has claimed the Internal Revenue Service is targeting pro-Israel groups introduced in federal court today a letter from an IRS agent to another,  unnamed organization that tax experts said was likely outside the usual or appropriate scope of an IRS inquiry.

“Does your organization support the existence of the land of Israel?” IRS agent Tracy Dornette wrote the organization, according to this week’s court filing, as part of its consideration of the organizations application for tax exempt status. “Describe your organization’s religious belief sytem toward the land of Israel.”

The document emerged in the course of a lawsuit filed in August by Z Street, a hawkish group that casts itself as the Zionist answer to the liberal J Street. Z Street claims that a different IRS agent reviewing its application for tax exempt status said the agency is “carefully scrutinizing organizations that are in any way connected with Israel” and that “a special unit” is determining whether its activities “contradict the Administration’s public policies.’”

The IRS can deny tax exempt status to groups that work against “established public policy,” a precedent established in its denial of a tax exemption to Bob Jones University over racial discrimination, and Z Street is suggesting that the IRS has begun applying some such policy to pro-Israel groups. The State Department has complained of tax exempt contributions to groups that fund weapons and equipment for West Bank settlers, which Z Street co-founder Lori Lowenthal Marcus said Z Street has never come close to doing.

“Given that we have fallen within this net, how big is the net?” she asked.

Top-level federal parasites continue to build their wealth while the rest of the American people suffer financially.

WASHINGTON — Members of Congress are enjoying their own financial stimulus.

Despite a stubbornly sour national economy congressional members’ personal wealth collectively increased by more than 16 percent between 2008 and 2009, according to a new study by the Center for Responsive Politics of federal financial disclosures released earlier this year.

And while some members’ financial portfolios lost value, no need to bemoan most lawmakers’ financial lot: Nearly half of them – 261 – are millionaires, a slight increase from the previous year, the Center’s study finds. That compares to about 1 percent of Americans who lay claim to the same lofty fiscal status.

And of these congressional millionaires, 55 have an average calculated wealth in 2009 of $10 million or more, with eight in the $100 million-plus range.

“Few federal lawmakers must grapple with the financial ills – unemployment, loss of housing, wiped out savings – that have befallen millions of Americans,” said Sheila Krumholz, the Center for Responsive Politics’ executive director. “Congressional representatives on balance rank among the wealthiest of wealthy Americans and boast financial portfolios that are all but unattainable for most of their constituents.”

In 2009, the median wealth of a U.S. House member stood at $765,010, up from $645,503 in 2008. The median wealth of a U.S. senator was nearly $2.38 million, up from $2.27 million in 2008.

For all members of Congress regardless of chamber, median wealth in 2009 reached $911,510, up from $785,515 in 2008.  This spike in personal wealth represents a notable rebound from the period between 2007 and 2008, when overall congressional wealth slipped by more than 5 percent. Federal lawmakers’ personal wealth climaxed in 2007 – the pinnacle of nearly a decade’s worth of steady asset value expansion.

Is this guy ever going to shut up and go away? Maybe he’s running around preaching his gospel in India because he can’t travel anywhere in the U.S. without being jeered at and mocked. One thing he’s got right: If you label something—anything—as terrorism, you can claim the moral high ground, shut down reasoned debate, and demonize anyone who disagrees.

Nobel Peace Prize winner and champion climate campaigner Al Gore outlined the doom the world is awaiting because of climate change and expressed disappointment at world leaders failing to clinch a treaty to fight the new global terror. Terming the logjam in climate negotiations as a “startling paradox”, the man, whose documentary, The Inconvenient Truth won an Oscar said the year 2010 had seen worst of climate change.

“There was severe drought in Russia and extreme flooding in Pakistan. What more evidence is required for action,” he said at HT Leadership Summit.
