Those wacky Feds think we’ll believe anything. They say the purpose of this registration is to manage saltwater fish populations, when in fact its true purpose is to manage us, the serfs.
Maryland anglers will be required to register with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration before fishing in the new year.
The requirement is part of a national commitment to effectively manage saltwater fish populations, said Joe Evans, a spokesman for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Service. The information collected in the registry, namely angler’s phone numbers, will allow NOAA to call anglers and survey them about their fishing frequency and catch rates in different bodies of water.
This initiative, known as the Marine Recreational Information Program, is designed to produce accurate information that will help determine the condition of fish stocks, Evans said.
